Continuing your education beyond high school is having more jobs to choose from. What kinds of professions interest you? If you are not sure what career path to take, there are various resources you can use to help you. You can start by making lists of your likes and dislikes; abilities; and favorite school subjects. Ask for help! Guardians, teachers, peers, and guidance counselors are great resources that can help you narrow down your choices. There are also websites and tests that assess your skills and abilities and suggest possible career paths and professions. Some examples of these resources are the Nevada Career Information System (NCIS) or the PSAT/NMSQT.

A great source for this type of information is the Nevada Career Information System (NCIS) which is free of charge to all Nevada residents. The NCIS is a computer-based system that combines a wealth of career, education and labor market information into one comprehensive exploration tool.

Preliminary Scholastic Assessment Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test

The PSAT/NMSQT is also known as the Preliminary Scholastic Assessment Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test that is a pretest for the SAT and is used as a qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship Program.  It also suggests possible career paths you can take after assessing your skills using your answers from the exam.
